A funny little story of my little man...
We were driving hom Saturday from OC when as we're getting onto 695 Aaron looks ast me and says, "Mom, I really have to poop!" Now the look on is face and the urgency in his eyes made me think he wouldn't make it home, but he did and I ran him right up, unlocked the door and let him run into the babthroom. A few minutes later he comes walking out which was odd since he cannot wipe by himself. I asked him if he was done and this is how our conversation went. (Imagine him with a super serious face and using a very determined voice)
"I lost the power!" (Using his arm and hand to demonstrate power)
"What power?"
"The power to poop! I'll do it later"
I love him and his little sayings. :)

Oh Crap
I was snug and comfy in my bed this morning. Davey came in and kissed me goodbye, Aaron came and cuddled with me as I dozed and life was great! All of a sudden the phone rang and I was cruely pulled from my state of dozing relaxation. I jumped out of bed and tried to find a working phone (which is a challenge in our house) and cringed when I saw Dave's number on the caller id. He had been gone for less than ten minutes. It couldn't be good. It wasn't.
I picked up the phone and tried to sound half-way awake with my muted "Hello?" and as I hear cars going past in the background I hear my love's voice saying, "I broke down and am on the Route 2 exit on 695. You need to come get me". Oh crap. I was in desperate need of a shower, didn't know where a bra was, had a sleeping baby upstairs that HAD to stay on schedule since I had to work today (Yes, Sara, I realize I sound like Mom!) and I was half asleep. Oh crap. I called my mom to come over and sit while Belle slept and started to brush my teeth when Dave called again. I cringed again and answered the phone waiting for more bad news. Thankfully it was the good news that his boss was closer and would pick him up so I could stop hunting for a bra to wear.
It has been determined that the motor is done in the truck so now we have decisions to make, wether to replace the motor, the truck itself, etc... Sadly, I think it will be the best route to replace the motor and I'm sure those of you who have seen "The Beast" as Dave's brothers call it, know it is not really worth fixing. It is times like this that I am thankful for our van that runs very well (and is under warranty too!) and I do enjoy the extra time with Dave as I drive him to work. My job is also just a few miles away too, so picking him up in the evening is not too big of a deal and it is a few extra minutes we have together. Having to get up early is NOT something I enjoy and when I had a sitter come over Monday am to take him in to work she laughed at me and said, "I see you are not a morning person" :) Clearly. Dave has learned that the hard way. When we were dating I had a rule for him to NEVER call on a Saturday am before 9 if he valued his life. He usually waited till 10 :). But I digress.....
So if you or anyone you know has a reliable and cheap car, let us know. Obviously Dave will drive anything, you've seen the truck.
Well, I'm off to cuddle with Dave on our swing and enjoy the quiet of the kids in bed. We have a lot to discuss and Dave is in a talking mood so I want to take advantage of it.
Nighty Nite!

Back to Reality
We had such a wonderful vacation this week! Usually by the end of my vacation I am ready to get home and have my normalcy but this year was quite the opposite! I could have stayed for another month at least before I would have been ready to come home.
I left on Sunday for OC, MD and met my dearest friend, Angie, there with her little girl, Sandie June. I have been close with Angie since we were 15 and it has been quite some time since we had a quality visit with each other. She is recently divorced (so this was her celebration vacation as her ex is indescribably horrid) and it has been several years since either of us had a real vacation. She was excited when she booked the condo that it was senior week, "the 18 year olds, not the old people" as she said but I, of course, knew what that really meant. Thankfully Sr Week was officially the two weeks prior to our arrival so it wasn't too bad. It was also Fire Fighter Week so there were a lot of families and Dave and Aaron got to bond at the parade on Wednesday.
Our children hit it off and if you ask Aaron who he will marry he quickly responds, "Sandie June" :) He loved her! It was quite adorable, he walked over to her last night while we were on the boardwalk and planted a kiss right on her while she sat in her stroller. It was totally like Dave does to me when he gets home from work, very matter of fact and down to business, you know? The kids played in the sand and in the baby pool we took down and filled with water and by the end of the week even Belle was playing in the sand. She would sit and grab big handfuls of it and just stare at it and let it run thru her fingers. She was sooooo dirty afterwards which "thrilled" me to no end, but she had a great time so I let her enjoy her vacation too :) Aaron's favorite ride was the tea cups and even though he looked like he was going to get sick, he kept asking me to go faster which was just fine with me! (Sara, I taught him well! Soon he'll be old enough for me to teach our turning system :p) I had to ride the tea cups with Aaron since Davey gets sick from rides like that, but he was nice enough to ride the Tidal Wave with mo since it was the first time in at least 4 years I was able to ride an upside down ride. It was wonderful even though it's a cheesy ride. My ultimate ride goal was the Zipper (also known as "the ride that made me scream" according to Dani and Rachel) but, alas, I never made it on that one. I'm hoping for a weekend trip in the late summer/early fall so maybe I can do it then. It was such a relaxing week, the kids were GREAT and had a wonderful time too. I am looking forward to next year when Belle can walk and do more in the sand. Aaron was just getting used to the waves crashing near him so next year he can be my wave jumping partner. I have a nice tan and didn't burn for once! Yippie! Dave and I decided this is definetly something we will do every year from now on, a nice week long family vacation.
Now it's back to reality as we had a Youth Group activity tonight, have to finish unpacking and laundry (thankfully I got most of it done before we came home) and now our a/c isn't working so I have to get Warthen out this week to fix it. Hopefully it will be first thing Monday since I have to work and it will be HOT this week! Ahhhhh, back to reality!
P.S. For those of you who have a MySpace or Facebook, check soon, I took over 200 pictures and will post some soon. :)

Girls Night
I love girls nights. A night with no (or just one) child, no hubby and for a few hours, no worries. How wonderful! We have been planning on this since April and it was much needed by the time it came around.
Alicia and Melissa came over for dinner and I grilled burgers at Alicia's request. We had fresh fruit and veggies, pasta salad with yummy peppers and onions and chips. Melissa was supposed to bring the mac and cheese but since she spent all day at the car dealership (Mel is one of the ONLY people I know who would just wake up one day and say, "Hey, I think I want to buy a new car" and then go do it) she didn't have time. Alicia was disappointed so I made a box of generic Mars Mac and Cheese to please her. NOTE: Mars Mac and Cheese is gross, I wouyld never even serve it to kids!!! We ate our dinner while my teething Belle took a nap (Dave had Aaron at the baseball game) and had a lovely conversation while I enjoyed eating and not having to fix a plate for someone else, feed or hold someone else or just plain be Mommy for 45 minutes. It was glorious! After we ate we talked for a while longer and when Dave got home we left both kids home and went to Cold Stone for Ice Cream. It was heavenly!!!! I ate ALL my ice cream since it was I think the one time in the last 3 1/2 years I have been able to do so without sharing. :) It was Oreo Overload with Ghiardeli (Sp?) Chocolate Ice Cream and I added brownies to it. Yummy! I was quite full and on the verge of a sugar shock by the end and had to get on the treadmill before bed, but it was worth every bite!
I laughed at Melissa most of the night, she has always been my crazy friend and I think that's what I like best about her. She is a 3rd grade teacher with horrible grammar, spelling and pronuciation but is a great entertainment. She says whatever is on her mind and doesn't care about what others think. Then there is Alicia who is more conservative and listens and will just look over at me with raised eyebrows when Mel says something controversial or stunning. I love them. They are both "old" friends and I am thankful for their honesty, openness and sincerity. We had a great time and plan to do it again soon, although "soon" for us is like November. :p
Now today I am off to get Hairy (my mom) and my two nieces (Tori and Alyssa) and bring them over here to play in the sprinkler and, in the words of Aaron, "Put water in the sand box and take the watering things and make the plants healthy". :) I hope you all enjoy your day too, it will be a beautiful one!

Clorox Green Works
I love this stuff! It smells so good and works really well! It is great on my new stove, counters, sink, even mirrors! I highly recommend buying some and using it all over your house, it smells like tropical/coconut. I love all-in-one cleaners :)

Work
I love my job. Why, you ask? I'll tell you. I get over-paid, get to take the kids with me, and since I work for my Aunt and Uncle I really love my employers and like knowing how much they appreciate what I do. I actually enjoy what I do as well, so that's a huge plus! I have learned a lot and have caught a few things that have either saved them money or made them money. I rock, I know :)
They own their own company, inspecting underground tanks, cathodic protection, corrosion control, etc... I am learning Excel and Word like you wouldn't believe, I have designed a website that is up and running, call and schedule jobs and am a great assistant to my "paperwork nazi" of a boss. (Seriously, she calls herself that. She is totally anal, but it's ok since I know what she wants). I was quite pleased with how much I got done today and the things I remembered and figured out. I have such a feeling of accomplishment today! The only thing that would make this feeling better is if my sink was empty and all the dishes were clean, but alas, it has dinner dishes and I think they will stay there until the morning.
I hear the treadmill calling and then I think cuddling with Davey who is already in bed would be a better way to spen my time instead of dish-washing. He is quite worn out from his day at the race and working in the HOT weather today!

Orneriness abounds
My hubby is at the Nascar race this weekend and I am at home with our two lovely children. One is starting to wake up and the other has finally fallen asleep next to me after calling me a "mean-o" for the last 20 minutes and crying when Imade him turn off the race on tv. Lucky me. The invitation was last minute and Dave was so excited last night getting ready that I am quite happy to have him gone. I know he is having a great time and doesn't get many opportunities to get away for a whole day to relax and spend time with "the guys" and I am happy for him. However........... WHERE IS MY DAY???!!!! :/
Actually, today was good until about 20 minutes ago. Mom took Aaron to chuch and Belle and I met her there for church. It was a wonderful service (although the band was lacking since Davey was absent and therefore the drums were silent) and I had a great time listening to what God has done for those in my church family this year. (It was kind of like a Thanksgiving Eve service today, LOVELY!!!!!!) Then after a brief (yes, I said brief!) stop at the Super WalMart it was home for lunch with some friends and then off to our old apartment to prank the couple who just moved in since they return tomorrow morning from their honeymoon. We put balloons in the tub, feeder fish (which sadly died despite Dave's efforts) in the toilet, we made a "party scene" in the living room and kitchen complete with solo cups and ping pong balls (beer pong, anyone?) a bra and mens socks strewn about in their bedroom, and I think my favorite part was the masking tape outline of a body in the middle of the landing. We laughed and had a great time! It was decided to leave the fish dead in the toilet, but I just want to say that I was in favor of flushing them but was quickly vetoed! (Let's just say that with the stench from the fish and the heat in a non-air conditioned apartment it will be a ripe place tomorrow morning at 6am when they arrive home!) The bride is picky about foos so we stocked her pantry and fridge with food she hates, heehee :). It was fun. We just all wish we had a videocamera hooked up so we could see their reactions! Ah well. I had a nice few minutes in my central-aired house and then came Mr. Needs a Nap. He got mad that I told him no more race cars in bed and told me I was a mean-o. (Sara, did your girls teach him that?? :)). After I told him he had to turn off the tv (which he then informed me that I didn't need to tell him what to do) he cried and kicked my dress pants around the bed and is now snoring next to me. He looks so innocent and peaceful. It's a shame that won't last .

Silence is Golden
Ahhhhhh! Do you hear that? Yes, it's the silence of sleeping children! I love my children but I also love bedtime. My house has been quite noisy for the last 24 hours and I am enjoying the quiet.
Last night I had 4 girls here with me for a girls night and they were quite a bunch of rowdy ladies! I had a 12 year old, a 9 (going on 19 apparently) year old and two 6 year olds (one cousin and three nieces). Belle was allowed to stay but I had to chase Dave and Aaron out for the night. Anyway, we started out with dinner which was a pizza from the deli section of Walmart and it was pretty good. Then the girls played for a few minutes but wanted to get right down to business by watching a movie. As the girls were trying to decide which movie to watch Dani asked Rachel "do you want to watch Enchanted or Ella Enchanted?" Rachel replied "Oh, Enchanted!" and Dani's immediate response was "Um, Rach, I think you want to watch Ella Enchanted instead" :) I laughed and we worked it out and sat down to watch Enchanted. (Don't worry about Dani, she eventually got to see Ella Enchanted). During the movie I made chocolate chip cookies which were a yummy addition to our ice cream sundees :) Once Dave got back from band practice the girls convinced him to let them paint his nails pink, they had a great time! (and he looked awful purdy with them there nails!) It was nice having them over and Belle laughed so hard at them, it was wonderful to hear such big laughs from such a little girl! I was sitting on my bed changing her when Rachel ran in from the hall and jumed on the bed landing with her head by Belle's head. The baby let out such a belly laugh that it was contagious! Then Holly and Tori wanted to join in on the fun and the three girls took turns running in and jumping on the bed. Belle would laugh as soon as she saw Holly's bright green shirt, Tori was so uncoordinated that she was barely able to actually jump up onto the bed and Rachel had the biggest grin, her mouth is SO BIG! My sides hurt afterwards from all the laughter. As the girls were settling in for the night they were asking if they could prank Dave in his sleep by putting shave cream on his hand and then tickling his nose, etc.... I laughed and suggested freezing his underwear instead and they all loved the idea! So I swiped a pair as he pretended to be asleep on the couch (he was in on the prank so I guess he and I actually pranked the girls) and they all ran into the kitchen to "prank" him. well, my little drama queen of a niece Tori got all bent out of shape since she didn't get to actually put his drawers in the freezer so I got a pair of socks for two of them to put in and Holly was still begging for more so I found an undershirt too. It was funny :) They were tickled in the morning as I told of how he came in and "complained" about being so cold. Next time maybe I'll think to get them wet first :p (And by the way, Dani put his underwear right in the center of the ice bucket thingy, that's my girl!) They were all so very good and had a great time. They all wanted to plan for next time already. I'm not sure I'll be ready any time soon though!
After all the fun with the girls I had a nice short visit with my sister who I don't get to see often enough and then had a lovely afternoon with the kids before naptime. Aaron kept trying to get up and even came down twice to poop. After a not so restful naptime we were whisked away to the ballgame with Dave (he helps coach) and then we were off to my parents to help put in window a/c units. We got home for good around 9:30, bathed and fed the kids and now even Dave is in bed so I have a few peaceful moments to myself. Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Silence is golden....

I would get married again just for fun, I miss being the bride
I hate to have wet feet unless I am in the shower or pool (never ask me to walk across a wet lawn, Ughhhhh!!!)
I am afraid of mice, spiders and all rodents
I love my brother, he has a great sense of humor
Most of my family is crazy
I am a night-owl and that is why I decided at 12:30am to start a blog
I am tired from designing a website for work and am now tired of the computer.
Goodnight!
Now that I have my random thought out of the way I will share some about myself for those of you who do not know me.
My name is Katie
I was home schooled kindergarden thru 12th grade
I have been married for 5 years
I have two children
I love my husband very much, he is WONDERFUL!
I am the forgotten middle child
I love my family
My husband and children are my most precious earthly posessions
I love being home with my children
I love that I have a part time job where my children can go with me
I will ALWAYS miss my children when they are not with me
I love chocolate
I love swinging on the porch with Dave and the kids
My children are wonderful and I love them
I love my sister and never see her enough
I have the best nieces and nephews EVER!
I have an awesome church
I don't like animals
Tornadoes make me nervous
I love the beach
